The "Too Many Data Points" dialog is not a bug nor a symptom of slow off-line processing.
This intentional informational message is displayed in reports when the current filters, Y-Axis values, and/or category selections result in a large data set and calculations. The current report configuration will take significant loading time or may not even complete before system timeouts are reached.
- When the dialog is acknowledged ("Continue") it should complete.
If you don't want to see this behavior, apply filtering or break up the report in blocks into chunks of items instead of looking at all items at a single time for a single block.
This message is to advise the user that they may want to constrain the report by selecting additional filters in order to obtain faster response in order to improve performance.
It is common to see this message in reports where large numbers of items such as S3 buckets exist.
